Privacy policy

Finansavi ("Finansavi", "we", "us") provides financial literacy education to students aged 11 to 19. We are based in Ontario, Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to finansavi.com, our consultation booking process, and our programs. Because our students are minors, we collect information about a child only from their parent or legal guardian, and only with that adult's consent. Children should not submit personal information to us directly.

What we collect

• When you book a consultation: your name, email address and (optionally) phone number; your child's first name and age; the program you're interested in; and anything you choose to tell us about your goals.
• When you enroll: details needed to deliver the program, such as your child's name, age or grade, contact details for the parent or guardian, and payment and billing information.
• When you contact us: the content of your message and your contact details.
• Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider and the services described below may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and to deliver the site.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, financial account numbers, social insurance numbers or other sensitive financial information.

How we use it

• To schedule and prepare for your consultation call.
• To enroll students, deliver our programs and communicate with parents about them.
• To process payments and keep the records required for accounting and tax purposes.
• To answer questions and provide support.
• To improve our programs and website.

We use personal information only for the purposes we describe here or that you would reasonably expect. We will ask for your consent before using it for anything new.

Emails we send

We send messages needed to arrange your consultation or deliver a program you enrolled in. We will only send newsletters or promotional emails with your consent, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only as much as they need:

• Cal.com, which provides our consultation scheduling. Information you enter on our booking page is passed to Cal.com to create your booking.
• Our website hosting provider, which serves this website.
• Google Fonts, which delivers the typefaces this website uses. Your browser connects to Google's servers to load them.
• Payment and accounting providers, when you enroll and pay for a program.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

Finansavi does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our scheduling provider may set cookies needed for the booking calendar to work. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep consultation information for up to 12 months if you don't enroll, and student and billing records for as long as needed to deliver the program and meet legal and tax requirements. After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls, secure service providers and limiting access to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take protecting your family's information seriously.

Your rights and choices

• Ask to see the personal information we hold about you or your child.
• Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
• Withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your information, subject to legal or contractual limits.
